Coastal Wetland
coastal land areas covered with water most of the year. Examples are salt marshes and mangrove forests.
Coastal Zone
warm, nutrient-rich, shallow water that extends from the high-tide mark on land to the gently sloping, shallow edge of the continental shelf. It makes up less than 10% of the world’s ocean area, but it contains 90%of all marine species and most large commercial fisheries. This zone’s aquatic systems include estuaries, coastal marshes, mangrove forests, and coral reefs.
Saltwater Life Zones
Salinity is a major factor in the types of plants and animals. Examples are oceans and their bays, estuaries, coastal wetlands, shorelines, coral reefs, and man- grove forests
